During the Covid-19 pandemic many therapists had to begin to offer services online. Over this time, significant scientific research has demonstrated that therapy delivered online by remote video is just as effective and can offer several advantages (e.g. flexibility and convenience). We now therefore offer a combination of face to face and/or online therapy.
Microphone and Camera Access
Please ensure you have authorised microphone and camera accessibility on your web browser before joining the appointment by the link that will be sent to you.
Mobile
Please ensure you have your mobile phone to hand so our clinician can contact you if there are any connection problems.
Hands Free
Our consultations are often long and it may be uncomfortable to hold a screen for a long period.
Big Screen
In our consultations we may share videos or forms with you. If you have a small screen it may be hard for you to engage fully with the content. Use a laptop, desktop or ipad if possible.
Good Connection
It can feel very frustrating if you experience technical issues. One of the most common reasons is a poor download speed. Please ensure you have a good download speed, and it is sometimes useful to limit other members of your household from streaming during your appointment if this can slow your connection.
Online Etiquette
Our clinicians appreciate if you can place your camera in a position to capture your entire upper body where possible.
Privacy
Our clinicians will be in a confidential and quiet space. We would appreciate if you could ensure the same. Consultations must not be recorded without prior consent and no third party persons should be present without informing our clinicians first.
